Well, this is the second of the LEIGH FMT Jig videos. Again please excuse the ameteur quality. This is just my way of sharing a fun day in the shop while pushing my digital envelope, so to say. Things have been a bit hectic here so it was good to get some dedicated time in the shop. Many thanks to my wife for allowing this indulgance!
I thought a video post would be fun to explore since I have learned so much from my fellow woodworkers via digital imagery. I am not sure what I am going to ...

Had a great day today working in the shop. I have gotten behind on my schedule for the cherry quilt chests because of some family isuues and increased work load. Today was a warm and sunny day in Portland and it was a pleasure to get out in the shop and make some cherry sawdust! I thought it would be fun to make a small video to share the experience. The original video was too long so I made a two part episode. I figured you guys would be the only ones that could actually sit and watch a rout...

Ok, so I am sitting here weighing the costs of some tools. On the one hand, the Festool Domino set with dominos, guides, and a dust collector for approximately $1300. On the other hand, I need a table saw and a planer. The money for the domino would likely cover these items. Which way do I go?

Bench Dogging After Greene and Greene
And so we now move on to the getting of legs, and in all your getting, be sure to take what you can use.
Moving now to the fourth bay of my barn on the south side, I have a bay filled with lumber from past accumulated workings of wood projects. Looking through the rows of some stickered and some stacked lumber, I soon found what I thought would make some good legs for the table bench dogs. The pine I decided on using was left over from a barn door ...

In the Spring 2007 Woodworking Magazine they did a review of mortise bits from the 34.99 to the 341.00 sets.
The ones by Hartville Tool came in 2nd and they were 34.99 for the set of 4 chisels. They have a 5/8 shank. The bits are 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 and 1/2.
The ones rated as #1 were by Woodcraft also 34.99 but I can’t find them on their web site The product code was #144010
They are now on sale at Hartville for $17.48
They are in their closeout section so I don’t know how...

After the last setback I started to figure out what I could do to correct the problem. I had visions of a three legged saw bench for a while, until my daughter saw my plans and proclaimed them “silly”. Dad can’t have a “silly” sawbench, it just doesn’t work.
I went down to Lowes for a 2X4 to make legs for my bench. There were only about ten in the pile so I was sure I wouldn’t find a good one. After looking at and rejecting several I found the p...
