Well I new this wouldn’t last. but it was great as long as it did, What I’m talking about is my wood sorce was a friend of mine worked at a factory that received there inventory with 1/8”, 1/4” and 1/2” plywood, and so he was able to pick up truck loads of it. Believe it or not, it was really nice wood. Beautiful grain, and I coulkd actually fit the pictures to the wood. Would you believe I lost his Phone number I have been trying to get ahoad of him, to get anot...
In this episode I build a weight organizer for all of the free weights. It only took about 2 hours to build which is not a lot of time. I changed my design 2 times and Im glad I did because my original design would not have worked. I use 2 2×4s and 2 12 in 2×4s for the base.
This is part 1 of my shop tour. www.kostasworkshop.blogspot.com
I tried keeping it as simple as possible, and worked the best I could to make the grain complimentary, and this is what I have been able to come up with. What you see here will NOT be what is all visible above ground. Remember I have dot have something sunk into the concrete footer right? The design is pretty simple. Cross built from double layer cedar 2×4s, 12” wide x 24” tall (above ground). The edges are all relieved with my 1/2” 22.5 degree chamfer bit. I thought...
I started thinking about building a new wood shop back in early February. One night while i was working down in my finished basement little work shop and I had just finished making a bunch of cuts with the table saw and looked up to see that the room was filled with sawdust and then i looked down and seen the air intake vent for the furnace. I thought to myself this is it. I can’t keep going on like this. I MUST BUILD A PROPER WOOD SHOP!!! And so the planning began. I read books on fra...

I have used Google SketchUp (free version) for the last few years and have found it to be excellent for designing projects like this. All my crates are designed and costed based on these types of drawings. For this project I tried something new in the design…I added the bolts I will use to put it all together. The picture of the bolts was done by hiding the rest of the crate…it took about 5 seconds to hide the other components. The finished crate will be 11 feet high, 11 feet dee...
Ron sanding the frame. Bill jumped in to help sand the frame. The frame has 1/2” round over inside and out except for where the axles go.More sanding. And… more sanding. And… more sanding. I hate sanding. A dry fit to see how it all looks together. We already sent the wheels to the painters shop.Wish we had the wheels here. The axles have a 1/16” gap all the way around the support to allow for expansion and contraction. It’s late Saturday night and there in one more ...
Just completed my Maple picture frame (posted in projects) and I sure learned a lot from it! The finishing really gave me a hard time, I think it turned out fairly well but would have liked it a little smoother. On to my next project – a Mission style couch table.
Yo whats up everybody this is the first video in my new shop and it is also my first garage shop because here in virginia beach there are no basements because 5 feet down is water. www.kostasworkshop.blogspot.co m
