I was dreaming about reaching 100 LumberJocks one day when I launched this website in 2005… Then, when it got going, 1,000 seemed likely but 20,000? No way! Fast forward to July 2010 and it’s party time once again in our family of 20,000 LumberJocks. I’m thankful and overcome with happiness that you decided to make this online community part of your life. Sometimes I come across a post about ‘the good old days’. Yes, ‘the old days’ were really good but despite o...
A Thousand Posts!! Not much at all, compared to the more prolific here, but it’s somewhat of a landmark for me… I’ve been reflecting on what my time here has taught me…I’ve learned better and faster ways of doing things. The combined skills of the members here on LJ’s is unparalleled!! Their willingness to share those skills is truly a breath of fresh air, in what seems an increasingly hostile and unfriendly world…I’ve learned that those same pe...
As Debbie mentioned in the latest eMag, we have declared June 12th as The International Day of the LumberJock. This happened in 2007 when we reached 1,000 members, just 2 years ago. Fast forward to today and we are more than 10,000 members strong. Unbelievable… I had no time to post frequently in the last few weeks. I returned from Yemen two weeks ago and am still catching up. And as this site grows leaps and bounds I find myself spending much more time on the maintenance and support...

This was veeeery fast – we were at 100,000 comments only 150 days ago and now we have crossed 200,000! Note that the number of comments includes also the number of forum replies since they are de facto same thing. After doing quick calculations we’re averaging well over 50 posts per LumberJock (including projects, blog entries, forum topics, reviews) and this is something to be proud of. You will not find many community/forum sites with this kind of activity. Only those reviews...
