Debbie asked about some photos of the ice storm. So, I made it out to the mailbox, and took photos on the way back carrying the mail. Isn’t it amazing, the mail delivery guy never missed a day!

It’s been a long week, but I am excited to say that I just finished up the 2nd Steak Knife set tonight about 10:15pm CT. Sure, I could go to bed, but not after I blog the milestone. But, first, let me apologize for not providing much in the area of notable, or supportive input the past couple of months. I just haven’t had time to do any reading on LJ, only worrying about getting my own projects and blogs posted. I swore off of LJ until the steak knife commissions were complete,...

Hey folks, the Wife is in town getting a piece of glass for the top of my knife display box, and so I snuck in from the shop to post an update on the progress for my custom steak knife project. This is the first set of 18 knives. I haven’t started the second set of 12 knives, so it will be a another long couple of weeks to get them finished. This first set of 18 needed to be in Las Vegas for a party this coming Saturday night, so that was a hard push to get them finished in time. Th...

I just read on MSN.com they have a new surgecal operation they can do with a laser that can fix a whole smattering of back ailments, herniated discs, ruptured discs, degerative disc disease, and much more, if you have back pain as many of us do, it will be a Godsend. I just sent this news to Mark Oscorner as it included the neck. What terrific news, out- patient surgery yet. Wow! wow. My new avatar is my wife and I, 35 yrs ago leaving the church heading for the reception, which was quite larg...

Well, after being excited, then not, then excited, then not, and then excited, and then not, for the past 3 weeks, today I was told that a check is in the mail for the deposit money for the Custom Steak Knife sets I will be making.
So, I’m officially at “excited” again.
I posted a few days ago about the knife/scrimshaw samples being sent here: http://lumberjocks.com/jocks/decoustudio/blog/2470
Now, I just wanted to follow up, and post that I did get the order today....

Mark contacted me concerning another opinion he had gotten from a different spinal surgeon. He said they had taken him off his heart medication so they could give him spinal injections, trying to pinpoint the area. Then possibley surgery. He’s in a lot of pain but continues to work. He has moved in with his father so he would have a 20 minute drive to work as opposed to a 2 hour drive as per his usual drive. He says it is agony for him to drive a car. Hence the move. He thanks everyone ...

Many folks over the past year have emailed me asking about whether investing in a website was worth the money and time. In my opinion (likely to change any day) for many folks that are just wanting to share their artwork with the world, I think a community posting like Lumberjocks is a better effort of your time spent.
If you want to sell your work, or do it full time, then how you use the internet needs to be part of a bigger plan. Almost all “artist-based” websites I have r...
