Hello. I just got a job as a writer/editor for Hardwood Floors magazine out of Madison, WI. If you see or hear about something cool or terrifying in the wood industry, especially as it applies to floors, drop me a line. Hardwood Floors puts out 6 magazines a year, and they send out news updates on Mondays and Wednesday regarding all aspects of the industry—illegal logging, product innovations, business updates on the huge suppliers, etc. The magazine features business tips, interesti...

I am an avid reader of WoodSmith and ShopNotes magazines. I love that they get right to the point and do not include any advertising. My favorite part of the magazine is usually the readers’ tip section; always at least one useful tip there. Last week my dw asked if I would like some back issues of WoodSmith as someone offered them up on our local Freecycle network. After saying yes and going to pick them up I found about 25 issues from the mid 90’s until 2001. It was so cool to s...
Hey guys! As usual, the summer season is the busiest for my remodeling work and it takes me away from my passion of sharing with the woodworking community. But I will take what I can get so the good news is that I am still at it. The latest issue of WOOD Magazine has just hit the bookstores and mailboxes and I was lucky enough to get a full page of coverage! The article gives tips from 4 small pro shops and mine was one of the shops covered. While there is a lot more wisdom and exper...
Hello,Finning Cat recently published an article about my High-track dozer in the Tracks and Treads magazine. My dad is in the construction business and frequently has meetings with clients in his office. Some of those clients are pretty high up in the Finning Caterpillar company and noticed the model dozer I made for him in his office. They asked him to send them some pictures of it and some information about myself. Months later, there it was in the magazine. I was really excited to see it. ...
