Kreg Pocket Screw Jig

938 days ago by David | 30 comments »

Well, things have been busy at home and at work. I finally got back in the shop today to work on a cherry display shelf for some close friends in Central Oregon. I am using my Kreg Pocket Screw Jig for the joinery. I thought it would be fun to share my day with a small video. Hope you can bear with me as I show you this remarkable jig. I also have a Kreg Foreman, a semi-automatic production machine, but thought the small portable jig would be best for this project. I use this jig a lot i...

Workbench 101

661 days ago by PanamaJack | 20 comments »

Over the past several years I have been needing and wanting to buy or maybe just make a workbench. I have gone to five woodworking shows in three states over the past two years. At these shows and in several magazines or catalogs I have noticed many of these really nice woodworking benches that are way far out of my reach as far as the $$$ involved. Finally after a elongated sick spell lasting nearly two months I finally get few boards together, screws, a very few nails and other items tha...

Garbage Can Holder #1: Learning Experiences

276 days ago by MyOldGarage | 7 comments »

Once upon a time . . . in a far away land . . . no wait . . it wasn’t really that far. It was our basement actually. There was a place FILLED with books. (How does this relate to a garbage can holder? Read on.) The culmination of Peggy and I’s households made for a rather large collection of books. We’re both avid readers, as is our family, so we have volumes of books. We needed more shelving and the existing shelving that we had was not quite designed to be up to t...

Workshop in Progress #4: Garage cabinets are almost done

508 days ago by jstewart | 1 comment »

I’ve almost finished the garage cabinets. My parents were in town last weekend to witness my daughter’s baptism. So, we took the opportunity to spend some time together in the garage. We were able to build the remaining three drawers in just a couple of hours. I decided to use pocket hole joinery for these drawers for two reasons. One: I just got a new Kreg Master System, so I wanted to give it a try. Two: I knew pocket hole joinery would be faster than setting up the dado...
