I can’t believe how long it has been since I posted any work on this series. The Buffet/Hutch is not completed. It’s in the state that I showed last. The last post was 473 days ago. Kitchen Remodel #7: Cabinet building continues

Well I’ve still been busy building additional cabinets. I’m working on the lower cabinets, because the upper cabinets need to match placement of the lower cabinets and I’m now working myself into a corner. That’s the sink corner. Old picture. It’s just to the right of the range. So what I’ve accomplished is building the cabinets to the left of the range. The range is being moved about 18” to the left so the cabinets that I’m building...

Sandbar #2: Cabinets progressing

Well, after about a week and a half of really building these cabinets full time, I’ve learned a couple things. 1. I love working in my shop! I’m having a blast doing this, and am really hoping I can build things in the shop full time. If I didn’t have to trim a house again, I don’t think I would mind. Of course, part of that may be because I am getting to use my new toys, a Steel City jointer and a planer. More on those I’ll post in my workshop profile. ...

Kitchen Remodel #3: New Saw!! Big wait :-(

I discovered, while building my prototype cabinet, that I need a new tool!! My contractor saw just won’t cut it (sorry for the pun). So after researching the you know what out of the TS market I’ve decided to stick with Grizzly and try their new G0651 (pic below). The only down side to this is I will have to wait 4-6 weeks before these new saws are shipping. This is a real bummer as I’m making progress on this project but to tell you the truth there are really no other...
