Twisted Coffee Table Base #1: Juniper Log Coffee Table Base / Pedestal

Since early fall we have been swamped in the shop and still have not gotten caught up from Christmas. Our inventory is depeleted and we are trying to get items instock as well as work on a few custom orders. Here is a rough form piece of juniper that we will make into a coffee table that will have a rock slab for a top. Once this is finished it will be shipped to Norway.

Wow, it’s been a busy month. These are from a month and 2 days ago. My landlady stopped by to check things out, and decided the Hollywood Junipers (Juniperus chinensis) needed trimming. Here’s how they looked, during a day when I was drying out my tarp, and realizing it was the same size as my tiny back yard: That was 3 months before they were trimmed. This lamp is just the coolest. The then ribbon movement and sweeping motion is phenomenal. 71” tall to the top of the shade The base is 39” x 24” It weighs 70 lbs As you can see we added turquoise throughout.

Twisted Coffee Table Base #7: Juniper Coffee Table Finished

This coffee table base was finished 2 months ago and we were able to get it shipped to The Netherlands. Out customer was going to put a rock fossil top on this, but had decided that it was so cool and unique that he ended up putting glass on it. It is 17” tall, finished with 3 coats stain polycrylic.

Juniper Table Lamp w/ "double base" #2: Sandblasting and sanding the Juniper Lamp

Tim, my husband worked on the base, it took 2 hours to get it leveled, shaped and sanded. The first two pictures are of the base after it has been run through the planer. This base is made out of burled cottonwood. Corners have been rounded and everything shaped before sanding. After two hours this base is done and looks great, the colors are really going to come out when we spray the finish on it. This is where I started sandblasting, the red dark wood has started to turn gray ...

Sweeping Juniper Coffee Table #6: Burled Top with Turquoise Inlay is finished

Here is the other inlay table that we have been working on. This one is inlayed with turquoise from Arizona, the top is burled cottonwood, and the base is juniper, we had to add an extra leg for support. It was finished with Bullseye sealcoat and satin polyurethane. 18 1/2” tall 43” long and 24” at the widest points, the top is 2 1/2” thick.

Well, we were invited to be a part of an “By Invitation Only” showroom. It is called Rocky Mountain Design center, located in Evergreen Colorado right of I-70. This is a 25,000sg ft showroom which features all high end lodge type home furnishing, from all of the U.S as well as Tibet, India and Europe. Needless to say this is suppose to be some of the best of the best and we are so thrilled to be a part of it. Anyway we will be renting a 400sq ft space to feature our work, the...

Here is the completed lamp it is 70” tall with the lamp shade 21×19 at the base it weighs 60 lbs The lamp shades are handmade. I do not make them a good friend of mine makes them for me. She does an excellent job.
