Ok, I promised myself and my wife that I would quit typing so much and work in the shop more. So, I’ve been fairly quiet, only admiring all of the growth of LJ, and the projects and blogs a few times a day quietly. This growing bunch of folks has been truly inspirational for me. The creative process of building the supports for the glass top took longer than expected, but then again we always expect the unexepected, so then again we did expect it. Hahaha did that make sense?
Anyway here it is, we are hoping to spray them tomorrow and sunday if the wind does not blow like mad.

This coffee table base was finished 2 months ago and we were able to get it shipped to The Netherlands. Out customer was going to put a rock fossil top on this, but had decided that it was so cool and unique that he ended up putting glass on it.
It is 17” tall, finished with 3 coats stain polycrylic.

Here is the completed lamp it is
70” tall with the lamp shade
21×19 at the base
it weighs 60 lbs
The lamp shades are handmade. I do not make them a good friend of mine makes them for me. She does an excellent job.

This lamp is just the coolest. The then ribbon movement and sweeping motion is phenomenal.
71” tall to the top of the shade
The base is 39” x 24”
It weighs 70 lbs
As you can see we added turquoise throughout.

Okay here is one of the most tedious parts of this lamp. Here are pictures of how the lamp limb looked before we started shaping it to the base.
There are several types of scribing tools available, but we have not been able to find one that works for us. To start the process, we find the point where the limb is the higest from the base.
