But, when I type too much, I don’t make things, bills come in the mailbox, upset spouse, thus the silence. After all, what I have to say isn’t all that important anyway. Something else my wife t...

We usually take the winter off of working in the shop, we spend the winter months trapping bobcats. Most of the time I am home with the kids and cathing up on much needed office work. Even though it is noce to take a break from the dust and loud noise; it is also nice to return to it. We have been back in the shop for a month know making table lamps and working on custom orders. My new project for the next few days is this soon to be table lamp. Can you see the beauty? I have taken pictures ...

Hello to all our fellow wood workers out there, and great job for doing what you love. Even though there are times that we get frustrated with a project that we are working on, run into on problem after the other; like finding new scratches everytime you change the angle of your light, whoops dropped it again, dang I forgot to do that or where did that run come from? We stick with it because it is a part of us, we love it and with every item that we make, we leave a little piece of ourselves ...

Corners have been rounded and everything shaped before sanding.
After two hours this base is done and looks great, the colors are really going to come out when we spray the finish on it.
This is where I started sandblasting, the red dark wood has started to turn gray ...

Wow, it’s been a busy month. These are from a month and 2 days ago. My landlady stopped by to check things out, and decided the Hollywood Junipers (Juniperus chinensis) needed trimming. Here’s how they looked, during a day when I was drying out my tarp, and realizing it was the same size as my tiny back yard:
That was 3 months before they were trimmed. They had grown in a lot more in that time. I had cut down a limb last year so I’d have room for a wood storage shed, ...

Here is how the table looks right now. Everything is bolted together, the branch pedestal, cottonwood base and cottonwood top have been bolted together.
My husband has finished the first step in setting the stone inlay, we now need to sand down the stone so that is is smooth, then add a finer stone to fill in the gaps.
