This video features a new crosscut sled built for my shop. Inspiration for this sled came form books in my library and countless Internet searches. This is a simple project for the shop that will increase safety, speed and accuracy of crosscuts on the table saw. Construction is simple with a MDF base, maple fences, Incra Miter Bars and T-Track. Not a lot of progress since the last entry but I have decided to go with simple box drawers with lock rabbeted joints. I watched a video from Wood Magazine where they conducted strength tests on various joints. They concluded that the half lap, finger, and rabbeted joints were the strongest, stronger apparently than a dovetail for a drawer box. And it’s a lot simpler. This is a model for the Woodpecker’s router table plate sized 9-1/4” x 11-3/4”. it is the same size for all their lift/non lift plates, also same size for the pinnacle plates, Jessem plates, and incra plates that are 9-1/4”x11-3/4” in size. the material width is 3/8” but can be modified to fit other materials.
