Video Review Of Dust Deputy

03-30-2013 04:39 PM by Todd A. Clippinger | 9 comments »

I posted this in the review section as well. But I felt the video offers a lot of context on how I use the Dust Deputy as a professional, what tools I use it with, and how I have it set up. This is a lot of good information to consider if you are thinking of getting one. You can see my Dust Deputy review here. Your friend in the shop- Todd A. Heavily modified Paul Sellers workbench #3: A look under her skirt....

I got your attention with that title, so here’s the picture….. I began to cut the hole for the vise two nights ago, last night I actually got it mounted. I had to use 3 layers of plywood to get the clearance I needed to mount it. (I’ll try and get a picture of that when I’m under the bench again. I’m not picking it up again if I can help it.) I had my 10 year old nephew help me mount it and here are the results… I have one coat of BLO ...

Things I Didn't Know I Had - Stack of Woodworking Magazines

07-31-2012 08:05 PM by AngieO | 17 comments »

My DH has decided to give me a better space in the garage to keep my tools and things. So right now while everything is getting rearranged it’s hard to get at all my stuff. So I’ve been planning out some projects I’d like to make. While looking on LJ’s and other sites for some projects to build I started to look for some plans. Until I really get going with this I’ll need plans to go by. I like Ana-White.com because of the easy to follow plans. If you have sit...

dice trays #1: Square tray and rectangular tray

10-27-2018 02:40 PM by TheTimberAlchemist | 4 comments »

Working on a a couple quality dice trays for those hardcore gamers out there. They still need a few more coats of Danish oil and a felt or fabric to line the interior base. Comments and suggestions welcome. Both have dice storage areas and personal dice trays. I have made some with felt but I like the faux suade texture and sound. What do you all think? At the moment I have orange and gray suade. I cant decide which one to put in which tray.

Hope everyone is having a great summer or holidays. Here is been too hot and a fan is not enough to keep you cool for woodworking in my shop, so it’s been a while to build anything or even finish my Box (finger) Joint Jig I was working on.Anyway the other day I was looking at some woodworking pages and some guy was trying to do an inlay design (not a bow tie) but his sketch and idea would not have worked because it would not hold it didn’t had any strength to it.So it got me thinki...

Pinterest on my board in the shop

01-05-2014 09:12 PM by CueballRosendaul | 3 comments »

I don’t often find myself in the shop twiddling my thumbs on what to make next, but sometimes I need a little inspiration, a quick gift, or a time filler while I’m waiting for a finish to dry. I have a great Pinterest board for woodworking ideas, but I don’t often have my iPad out in the shop, so I simply printed my pins onto paper and hung it on the bulletin board. The first couple pages were portrait, but the rest are landscape which works better because the projects get c...

Polyurethane fix, ideas, suggestions

08-22-2013 07:04 AM by inganmarcelo | 5 comments »

hello everyone, I am new to woodworking. I am building a table, one like I saw in apple store.after a month of long struggle I finally got to the finishing stage.I am not a big fan of oil polyurethane because of its shine and non-woody feel of it.but I thought I might make it work if I applied very thin layer.and wiped it with cloth instead of brush. well. it didn’t work out very well. not happy with the outcome. shinny and plasticky does anyone know how to get that effect of f...

LumberJocks is Depressing Me...

10-11-2007 07:40 PM by Dekker | 14 comments »

But that’s a good thing! You see, I’m a rather tech-savvy woodworker. A few months ago, I was surfing looking for woodworking community-type sites. Well, I was rather disappointed, could only find sites that specialized in forums, or products, or were somehow too narrowly focused on one topic. So I thought to myself: “Hey, I’ll build it!” Off I went, and I started to do some writing, and eventually put together a website (WoodworkDetails). It’s sti...
