During last 2 weeks I’ve been testing services by relatively new hosting provider – Slicehost. They have narrow and very focused offer which is quite unique among hosting providers. Testing proved me that it’s worth to move our sites to them. I was happy with the support as well as other aspects on our old provider but Slicehost offers streamlined interface and easier expansion in the future.

I know we all love fancy time-savers.. don’t we? How would you love accessing your pictures or videos (maintained on the third party dedicated sites) directly below the text area when writing your loooong blog entry, project story or even new comment.
Well, now this is possible here on the LumberJocks through our embedded mini-browser. You don’t need to open new window to paste in that picture anymore – do it 5 times per post and you’ll see how tedious this can be ;...

This is so exciting – New era at LumberJocks.com begins right now – the era of video tutorials. I just finished our first video tutorial screencast titled ”How to submit entry into the Bookcase Design Challenge”. It outlines all of the steps in posting the blog entry, embedding the pictures as well as the final project file and then submitting it properly to the Challenge.
Any feedback is much appreciated since I want to replace our wordy help section with this kind...

It’s difficult to type right now because I decided to run my bandsaw blade part of the way through my right middle finger Sunday afternoon. Thank goodness it was just the ¼” blade. I hate having to sand blood off a project.
