With LumberJocks expanding and GardenTenders growing so nice, I think it’s the right time to add the third related site into the mix. It was requested numerous times here on the LumberJocks… the site with the same format covering all about home building, remodeling, decorating and improvement.
Debbie came up with the perfect GardenTenders name but now we’re struggling a bit with this new name. The requirements are:

I got an idea last week to make our home page more inviting to new visitors. The idea was to introduce our community – us – through showing what we love. All those “latest” boxes (projects, blogs, forums) were nice but was telling nothing special about us. Now we have 4 main sections on the home page:

You can finally enjoy the result of my latest work. We got MUCH IMPROVED personal home pages here on the LumberJocks as well as better organization of the profile and account editing.
The former personal homes were not visually appealing and displayed only minimal amount of content. On the other hand, new ones have rich 3-column layout with lots of info about you and your activity on LumberJocks. I believe they represent something you can be proud of and are worth sharing with your friends...

Hello fellow Lumber Jocks! I’m starting a little blog series on my work-in-progress DIY lathe. In short, I want to build a lathe to turn a few pens, without spending ~$60 some on specifically pen turning materials and ~$200 on a lathe.

Here’s a good one for you home re-modelers out there.My Son recently talked to a friend of his from Minneapolis. He bought a fixer upper home that he planned on reselling. He invested a lot of his sweat, time, and money into it.He had recently sold the home, and about a week after selling it, he happened to drive past the old place, & to his astonishment, the house was no longer there. The people who purchased it, demolished it to build a new home.
