Hi guys this is my first blog, i like to share my recent vintage tool find, i work with hand tools i am a beginner i am constantly searching for good tools, where i am lacking is saws, its hard to find vintage saws in mainland europe most of the saws are bow saw and frame saws in bad shape, i was surprised to find this two saws its just what i was hunting for, a long ripsaw for resawing and a small tenon saw.The first one is a swedish made saw, Stridsberg & Björck is etched on the saw pla...

Ok you asked for it, here it comes! Tool holders are made so, here are a couple of closeups, I already have had these made, but I have not built them in… So this blog entry is an augmention of the plan, so you can see in wood how it should look. They are nothing more than some hardwood, in this case Ash, strips glued together. This video from 83 years ago follows a German woodworker as he selects a log half, cuts out a bowl blank on a large band saw, and then turns 3 separate parts to create a lidded bowl. It’s neat to feel such a kinship with a guy at his lathe some 13 years before his country would enter into WWII. I wonder if he made it to the war, and what he thought of it. There’s something a lot more tangible about this video than the still black and white photos of men with saws over their shoul...
