I finally got started on cutting the planks for the bridge. I hope I can get this done in time to submit as my entry. I may have to submit some previous projects if I don’t get finished this weekend.

My father made the flooring of the patio at our house, and we decided to construct a roof for it.This is what we have built so far: the main frame structure
Unfortunately we made a mistake during measuring one of the beams:

After a long battle with the flue in my house, I’m finally able to get back in the shop. I had a list all ready of the things that I wanted to build around the house, but of course that got scrapped by necessity. As soon as I know what it is that I am actually going to be working on list wise, I’ll make sure and post it.

Ah, life. It’s what happens while you’re busy making other plans. I had (ok, still have) a great idea for both contests. Yes, two birds with one stone. And what was even better, was that it required only small amounts of time and attention, spread out over the duration of the contest. It was required actually. As I would be turning pieces of green wood, and needed to stagger the assembly, so as the pieces could dry gradually and mother nature could do the joinery for me. No need f...

I couldn’t resist doing a blog on this. I have no illusions of winning the contest given the competition and since the whole idea of LJ is to share I wanted to do just that. So…no cards close to the chest here…I’m showing my hand.
Many of you have seen the bridge in our garden. I built it as a “temporary” solution 8 years ago from some leftover fence. Well it’s starting to show its age and I figure it will be great to kill two birds with one stone....
