Forgive My Insensitivity…
A public Thank You is in order before I go any further. I had some great support from two individuals that are a part of LumberJocks.
I relied heavily on Dave Pruett for “on call” support to figure out how to edit / process / and post my video.
I need to thank Marc Spagnuolo as well. I did not continually call him like Dave, but his advice and pointers were taken to heart and helped me out as well.
As with my woodworking, my achievement...

Leaving the tool chest for a moment; we go back a few years to the Domesday Book and 1086 and an interesting fact – 13 saws were recorded in the kingdom, bowsaws were common at the time so what kind of saws were these? Probably not sawmills; mills are mentioned aplenty and millponds too but they were agricultural mills.
These are probably pitsaws, a gruelling job for two men; one of them in the pit and the other steering the two-handed saw and balancing on the level tree-trunk as they r...

”Explanation of Experience” and Art
....tempt me and i shall speak,if not by words of a common tongue, then i shall speak from within the wood, where the soul of a tree lives very much free….
....infatuate me and i shall speak, come out from amongest the copy-cats,brush aside the hands that ever are clutching too hold, when will you escape your defined walls of self-imposed exile….

What’s a WoodWorking Economy To Do or Be?
So by now I’m sure we all have heard and have our ideas//opinions on ’the new economy’ as if this word new means that one can now forget about the ’old economy’. And then I wonder can any explain as to what happens when we have two economies as past and present? My understanding of all this has all-ways been to keep it very simple….K.I.S.S; and then one is able to better work within the word definition ...

50,000 Words of Wood
....so I’m wondering how many writers are on the roll-call here at LJ?
The month of November is a good time to see how many words one can produce, to write a novel….about a story with wooden content or....? Can you write 50,000 words in one month....then you can sit back after the smoke clears and say; ”yes I did….write a novel.”
I mean we are workers of wood right, and as such I have many words of thoughts going through my head cons...

It’s been a while since this blog started. My mind has been full of so many projects, most of which were rash decisions to start. When I wrote the original part of this I mentioned the materials and that I would start the project the next day. Well I did cut a chunk of maple and it made it’s way from the shop to my dining room table. The table has become my carving bench, this way I can spend time with the future owner to this project who happens to be my girlfriend. The exci...
