"Resplendence of Wood" --by RusticWoodArt

315 days ago by frank | 7 comments »

Resplendence of Wood ....oh the beauty of a sky filled with wood, where meeting together on my plane of vision, i re-tell the art of having made more then meets the eye, this is the respect i give as i give you wood…. —-where is the time that passes while living with wood, what is this moment i behold within my head, why stop and stare since this moment is all-ready past, how much pause can my heart infill with the desire of wood…. ....my likening is found as wr...

"Wordy Wooder" by RusticWoodArt

405 days ago by frank | 7 comments »

Wordy Wooder ....being born this way with a head filled full of words, and then next came the realization that my hands were created, to give expression to the images that swirled around within, while playing the part of verbal misfit, until the day my morning opened up and I saw wood…. One ought to ask them-selves first of all, who-what-where-when and how do I fit in? Without asking these questions that same one will fall prey, to all the other’s coming along and across one...

Mahogany Table #1: A victim of table abuse

509 days ago by johnnybwood | 7 comments »

This project is a great example of the following old adage: “No good deed goes unpunished.” A while back I was at church on Sunday morning. During coffee hour my wife was saying things like “You remember John, don’t you?” while I was talking with a few people. A rather subtle approach, I admit, but it got me thinking. Maybe I’d better do something to offset the somewhat irregular nature of my attendance. I noticed that a small side table in the paris...

Vroom Vrrrooooom! (race car bed) #1: Aaaaand they're off!

626 days ago by Allen | 7 comments »

My son Sam, now 2 ½, is a certified car nut. He has about 200 of them, which he can identify by model and color, and those are just the Hotwheels/Matchbox sized cars. He and I spend hours on the living room rug playing with cars, driving them to various locations on the rug which he has identified as the grocery store, the car wash, the “whippy dip” (does anyone outside of Cincinnati call a dairy bar/soft-serve ice cream place a “whippy dip”?) etc. Anyhow, we were sitting at dinner, my...

Crown Molding: Crafting Your Own Trim

698 days ago by Mark A. DeCou | 7 comments »

My wife is gone for a few hours this Saturday morning, and the kids are busy watching a video, so I will update you on what I am working on now. I’m right in the middle of a “fun” project. It is “fun” on many levels, mostly because I have had to stop and scratch my head a lot. For those of you with kids, or remember having kids, or know someone who has kids, Winnie the Pooh always says, “Think, think, think” while poking his temple when he is try...
