Floating shelves ....continued

Well, the floating shelves are done. I finished them with two coats of flat black latex paint, and then a top coat of combo varnish-walnut stain by Minwax. I was going for this new color in the furniture trade called ”espresso”, and I think I got it. We will be heading up to Son’s house to install them soon, and I will try to get a good photo to share. /Users/john/Desktop/DSC01315.JPG

Floating shelves

Another family project…..Son wants “floating shelves” on the TV wall in their family room. After a bit of research, I happened upon a plan for using hollow core doors. Just so happens, that a neighbor threw out a couple of them a few days ago…...I grabbed them. After sawing the long way down the middle, I was left with two 8.75 inch slabs.
