Advice about wood movement

Young woodworker here looking for some advice. I’m working on a 34” x 34” frame for squeegeeing film photographs after they have been developed in a darkroom. The design is fairly simple I’m using 5/4 white oak for the frame connected with finger joints and then cutting a dado in the middle of the pieces to allow for a piece of plywood and plexiglass to rest in. This will be inside a school and will be exposed (not submerged) to water for about half of the year. I am making this to replace a ...

Well, I finally worked up the nerve to finish preparing the panels I glued up in the last entry. I was worried that removing any residual twist/cup/bow from the panel glue-ups would result in very thin panels. I discovered that once I ripped the panels in half (one half for each of the door and wall-mounted component of the cabinet) that there was very little flattening to do on the narrower boards. I have always wanted to make Finger/Box Joints on the table saw, But as it is only a little saw, I am unable to fit a Dado Set, or Multiple Blades. Along came LumberJocks.
