OK, so yeah – another blog about a router table, but since I’m going to make one , might as well document it while I go, maybe someone can benefit from this.
I’ve had a Rockler router table top + plate + fence which I got when I bought my router (Bosch 2 1/4hp). This is my old tablesaw fence. It is a little hard to see from the photo, but I cracked it trying to “micro-adjust” it. So I started to look for an aftermarket fence, of which there are some really nice ones out there. Well lumberjocks I just had to share my good fortune / blessing (whatever term you prefer) with ya’ll. While I’m going to school I’m working for the Plant Services dept of the university in the carpentry dept. It’s pretty much the perfect job for me and i use it as my stress relief from school work. the carpentry dept is the most called on dept when things go wrong cause we can fix anything, right? well needless to say we get around campus quite a bit and the other...

So, New Saw, New Zero Clearance Inserts are due!

So I am building a box frame using box-joints.
I have my Incra 1000SE miter gauge setup with the stop block to cut the side pieces to length, and I’m all done with that.
Time to cut the box joints.
So I swap the blade on the table saw with my new (only used once before) Dado blade, I attach my homemade high fence for making box joints onto the Incra 1000 fence, and I’m ready to start cutting.

I have had the cabinet completed for sometime now, and had the Incra Fence already. However it is not a general purpose fence, one that you can attach feather boards and such to. I need to be able to keep my work flat on the table for my current project (Sliding Dovetails) so I am now having to build this guy out. while working and designing my router table I noticed that there are no Incra Models on Sketchup 3D Warehouse at all. I do not have any of the LS positioner systems, and would have liked to have a 3D model version to incorporate into my design and see how it would work with different sizes table tops…

So I got the Mast-R-Lift in place and did some tweaking of the leveler screws to get it flush with the top.
Next I needed to think about the fence. I know that I will be able to use my TS fence, but I have this Rockler fence floating around from my old drill press table. As far as I can tell, this is the same as their router table fence just a little smaller. I think it will work fine for my purposes and I can always modify it later if need be. Woodworkers Journal eZine that I just received had a tool review for the new Driftmaster bandsaw fence that Laguna has modified to make a universal fit for other bandsaws.
Here is the video click on the driftmaster icon.
After you have viewed the video their are other item to press.
