Sharpening chisels—forget weaker micro bevels
Controversial though it may seem, and though adopting micro-bevel methods for sharpening chisels may seem to make sense, a freehand convex bevel actually gives exactly the same sharpness as any micro-bevel method, but takes only a fraction of the time to develop. I just had to gloat a little tonight.
I decided to leave work early and go to a local auction today. The ad stated there would be some woodworking equipment there. Never one to turn down the chance to get something else for the garage/shop I decided to drive the 30 minutes. I did call ahead, and all they could tell me is that all the woodworking equipment was for a small shop (perfect for me.)
So even without a listing I took the chance. I was a little worried when I got there. ...

Hi everyone, well, after almost 4 years of continuously fine tuning my crawlspace shop, with no access larger than 30ish inches, I’m moving into a home with a basement. You know what this means, more room for my shop! I’m going from roughly 90 square feet (seriously, it’s that small), some of which is well under 6 feet tall (I’m 6’1”) to somewhere in the area of 240 square feet. Things just keep getting better and better!
Feast your eyes on what I came into possession of today. My buddy has been remodeling his house for the last two years, and had purchased this Rigid T3650 10” table saw during the process. Well the remodel is over, and the saw is all mine to use.
