Well, we got the permit, & finally started building it.
The demolishing of the old porch didn’t take too long,
because it was so poorly constructed, it was hanging by a thread.
They poured the slab over some clay in between the foundation walls,
The clay had settled over time, so there was nothing holding up the slab.
there were two 16” 2×2s just under the threshold, each with about 5 nails in each.

I’ve made a few minor changes to the deck plan.
We should start building it next week.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~You may notice that I learned to apply the plan to image a lot better. Practice! practice! The corner support pipe also looks much better with a darker paint.

Well I’m nearing the end now, i’ve got a lot done in the last two days. not a whole lot physically but the details are really coming along good. i’ll get right into it.
first i needed to cut a v groove at the intersection of the tongue and groove. i started by cutting a groove in the intersection area. then i chiseled away the waste to get a rough groove and finished it up with some sandpaper

Hey Everybody,
In this episode of the Teen Age Woodworker I make a pretty cool Arts-and-Crafts style picture frame out of Oak for my cousin. Some things that i go over in this episode are half blind dovetails and making a simple triangle peg. here’s what the finished product is.

Well here it is with drywall!! I can’t believe how cool it will be to finally have a “real” shop. The drywall is SO heavy and a pain to work with. Like every three seconds a new chip or crack has formed and the so the finishing touches on the plaster and mud are going to be put on soon. Hopefully this weekend we can finish with paint and the trim. This took a lot longer than I thought it would take from he beginning. With the drywall up you can really start to see what it wi...

I built this small chest of drawers from scrap wood that was just laying around the shop. It started with a phone call from my Dad. He had explained that he needed a small chest with 3 drawers to fit between the beds in his fifth wheel trailor. The measurements of 14.5” X 18” X 27” was a tight fit so I decided to use the space wisely and not have an overhang on the top. So i was recently given a chance to make a coffee table for my local tattoo shop, and while they aren’t picky, i do have about a $300 limit, maybe more if I really impress. This is table i’m working on, I know its a little “grand” for a first timers table, but I figured if I can do this table, it will make doing future tables much easier.
