2 days left and I got a finish coat of stain on tonight, after my wife got home from work and helped me get a burl. The city dumps trees and compost and dirt about a quarter mile behind my house and my cousin is on the DPW. So I have free access to all the fallen trees in the city. The other day I was back there with the quad checking out my lumber and noticed a big old maple burl I could’nt pass up. So I started working on it with my chain saw. Almost ready for a dry fit. Got every thing mortised and tenons cut still have one more mortise to cut for the strechers on the legs and i’LL dry fit it. Still a lot of sanding and staining. I even have the strips of ebony cut last night. still have to cut into 1/4 in. lengths, but I think I’m gonna make them just a tad longer. I’m finding a lot of brown streaking in the ebony, is that normal? Just the type of ebony I have? Anyway I’m gonna have to dye with a dark mark...
