I’ve been really busy trying to learn SketchUp.
My Son needs a new front porch on his home.
I decided this would be a good way to learn SketchUp.
His old concrete steps have been gradually leaning, & it makes the whole house seem crooked.
He said if he sits on a step, he feels like he’s going to fall off.
This was quite an experience for me, because I’ve used a T-square, & triangles for so long.
This project took me an awfully long time, but I learn...

Hi,This is my first attempt at Blogging. I’ve been planning on building a fireplace mantel for quite a few years now. So late this fall I started on this project. The cold weather got an early start this year , so I couldn’t finish it, so I brought it to town to work on it this winter. My sweetheart has been snapping pics. of my progress. They turned out pretty good, so I’d like to share some with you.
The shelf is made of 3/4” Birch plywood, with a Black Ash fascia...

Hi!I have previously submitted a soundtrack of the Cain Guitar.
The other day My Son brought over a DVD of a Graduation party.
The father of the Graduate arranged to have music by a band made up of himself, playing the drums, & some other friends.
They got together , & practiced a few times. It turned out really nice.
My Granddaughter did the camera work on this, I think she did a fantastic job.
I hope you all enjoy this.

Debbie challenged me to a Video duel.
Pardon my stuttering, & stammering, because I’m just a Lumberjock, & I don’t care.
Notice the Lumberjocks T-shirt, my PC camera shows a mirror image, & I can’t figure it out.
Don’t forget to watch MsDebbieP’s happy dance.
Also Martin’s Happy Dance.

Well, we got the permit, & finally started building it.
The demolishing of the old porch didn’t take too long,
because it was so poorly constructed, it was hanging by a thread.
They poured the slab over some clay in between the foundation walls,
The clay had settled over time, so there was nothing holding up the slab.
there were two 16” 2×2s just under the threshold, each with about 5 nails in each.
There was nothing holding up the 6 foot length along the...

Once I got out there, I shook off the shakes immediately.
I commenced to install my new Triton router into my router table. I had to cut a new opening in my table for a larger router plate. It took me awhile, because I had lay the new plate into position, & scribe a line with a sharp knife. Then clamp down some guide boards in order to rout out the new opening. I ended up with a perfect fit. After fastening the router to the new plate, I dropped it into the table. Then I ran a test wi...

The last couple of days, I’ve been working on the tabletop. I mortised out the breadboards, & cut the tenons.
I kind of fell for the cloud lift theme, so I incorporated into the top. You might want to call this a sideways cloud lift.
I decided to try something from the latest issue of Fine Woodworking, They call it draw bored pegging on the breadboards. This is something I've never tried before, so we'll see what happens.
Check out my latest Video. ></td></tr><...

Hi,Today, 6/21/2007, I changed the name on this blog, so members could find it easier.
Things sure get haphazard, & messed up when you by a new piece of equipment, especially when you’re cramped for space. I bought a new planer about a year ago, & I’ve been in a tangle ever since.
The first thing I had to do was rearrange all my power tools. After that I had to relocate all of my dust collector ductwork. I decided to replace the 4” plastic pipe with sheet metal...
