Dust Hood 12/06/2006

I finally did some wood-turning yesterday, & my dust shield worked great. It can be slid to follow along with the area your working when doing a longer turning. I was concerned that the plastic window on it would get dirty because of static, but it stayed clear of dust. It also didn’t interfere with my work.My sweetheart was setting up her display of Dickens carolers yesterday, & mentioned she should have a light post. I surprised her, & made one for her. I still haven’t completed the workshop reorganization project. There seems to be so many distractions that sidetrack me. I recently made a combination shield, & dust hood for my lathe. I looked at a lot of them that you can purchase, but I opted to design my own to fit my own lathe better. It slides under my lathe bed. Revamping my Dust Collector ductwork

Hi,Today, 6/21/2007, I changed the name on this blog, so members could find it easier. Things sure get haphazard, & messed up when you by a new piece of equipment, especially when you’re cramped for space. I bought a new planer about a year ago, & I’ve been in a tangle ever since. The first thing I had to do was rearrange all my power tools. After that I had to relocate all of my dust collector ductwork. I decided to replace the 4” plastic pipe with sheet metal...

Hi,This is my first attempt at Blogging. I’ve been planning on building a fireplace mantel for quite a few years now. So late this fall I started on this project.
