A 10,000 Projects Challenge to Debbie, Video

421 days ago by Dick, & Barb Cain | 38 comments »

Debbie challenged me to a Video duel. Pardon my stuttering, & stammering, because I’m just a Lumberjock, & I don’t care. Notice the Lumberjocks T-shirt, my PC camera shows a mirror image, & I can’t figure it out. Don’t forget to watch MsDebbieP’s happy dance. Also Martin’s Happy Dance.

How I spent my summers in my teens!

488 days ago by Dick, & Barb Cain | 37 comments »

Since I bought my first computer about 4 years ago, I’ve digitized all of my pictures. I had all of my slides put on disks, & made a jig, so I could take pictures of all of my old negatives. It took me quite awhile. Now I’d like to show some pictures of my Grandparents farm where I used to spend my summers. As soon as school was let out, I’d jump on a Greyhound bus for a 200 mile trip to Northwestern Minnesota. It was during World War II, in the early 1940...

Thorsen Table Challenge #7: Going for the Top !! Also pegging joints info.

946 days ago by Dick, & Barb Cain | 33 comments »

The last couple of days, I’ve been working on the tabletop. I mortised out the breadboards, & cut the tenons. I kind of fell for the cloud lift theme, so I incorporated into the top. You might want to call this a sideways cloud lift. I decided to try something from the latest issue of Fine Woodworking, They call it draw bored pegging on the breadboards. This is something I’ve never tried before, so we’ll see what happens. Check out my latest Video, hope you ...

Building a Deck from my SketchUp plan! #1: SketchUp drawing of a front (Deck)!

558 days ago by Dick, & Barb Cain | 32 comments »

I’ve been really busy trying to learn SketchUp. My Son needs a new front porch on his home. I decided this would be a good way to learn SketchUp. His old concrete steps have been gradually leaning, & it makes the whole house seem crooked. He said if he sits on a step, he feels like he’s going to fall off. This was quite an experience for me, because I’ve used a T-square, & triangles for so long. This project took me an awfully long time, but I learn...

This is a continuation of #5 in this series.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have the slat wall paneling completed. "REVERIE HARP!" a new style of Harp from a kit #1: Reverie Harp Kit, Off to a pretty good start!

161 days ago by Dick, & Barb Cain | 27 comments »

I showed Barb this kit the other day, & immediately she said, ”I want one.” When the Sweetie wants something, I usually comply to her wishes. Besides, I can try making something I’ve never done before. This is the kit I ordered, it's called a Reverie Harp.. One thing about this Harp is, anyone can play it because of the way it’s tuned. It has a real soothing sound.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a picture of the parts ...
