This is my entry for the bookcase challenge. I designed my bookcase to be modular and have simple modern lines. I eliminated the “top” and “bottom” to give the piece an open feel and to reinforce the feeling that the shelves are “floating”. Ok here is my entry for the bookcase challenge. This piece is a complex design and I hope that I will not build this one. Although beings that my wife loves this design it will probably have to be built. The original design was to be made from a sustainable material. As requested, here is my basic plan for the workbench base. This was my first (semi) successful drawing with Google SketchUp, so please pardon the crudeness. I plan on starting on this phase in the next week or two (after payday).
