I am always excited to meet up with another woodworker and especially another pro. The conversation seems to go to a whole other level, especially when both of us are equally passionate about the same things. Those things would be woodworking, design, and sharing the knowledge with other woodworkers. Last night was just about as good as it can get when Andy Chidwick stopped by with his family at dinner time. He is an excellent craftsman, designer, and he is also passionate about sharing th...
It was a pretty good day, despite the gray weather outside. I arrived at the show today with a short list of things to accomplish. Highest on my priority list was to get my battery issue for my Makita 18v Li solved. 3 of the 4 batteries have for it have gone bad, in less than 20 charges. I dropped by the booth yesterday and spoke with the district manager and he asked that I bring them in so they could test and replace them if needed. Got this done right away. Nice guys and eager to get th...
Given Sam Maloof’s passing, I thought I would post the link to a web site that shows Sam in action (there are other woodworking videos as well). His videos are in the Video Library under A Woodworking Experience. http://www.woodworkingchannel.com/dolphin/vidego_video_library.php

About a month ago I received a phone call asking if I would demonstrate the Art of Scrimshaw at the Senior Center in Marion, KS. The lady that called said that she has held onto a brochure of mine since 2003 that someone had given her then, and so she decided to see if I would come and talk to the group. I asked a bunch of questions, and for some reason had it sunk in my mind that we were talking about the nursing home crowd for the demonstration. I haven’t been to a nursing home much si...

Got up early yesterday and headed up the mountain to Toowoomba… what lovely place… cold, windy and wet but still a lovely place. Took the TWC up to the Toowoomba Woodcrafters Club at their clubhouse/workshop located in the Showgrounds for a Demo…what a turn out.. over 40 folks turned up from all over to see the TWC… nice to have a group genuinely interested enough for quite a few to travel up to 2 hours to attend. There were members from the Laidley and Pittsworth c...
