Delta T2 Fence #6: How to setup and install on a Craftsman tablesaw

01-19-2008 07:58 AM by Jamie | 13 comments »

Since I have installed the Delta T2 fence on my Craftsman tablesaw, I have had a few people asking how I installed it, especially, how I installed the fence so that it would zero properly. For those that are thinking about installing this fence on a craftsman, you WILL have to drill new holes in the rails. You can use one of the existing holes, but you will not be able to ‘0’ the fence. I wish that I had taken pictures of each step to further clarify the information listed be...

Delta 36-725 Table Saw Blade Alignment Procedure

01-08-2015 01:49 PM by thetinman | 9 comments »

The Delta 36-725 table saw is a great tool designed and priced for the amateur woodworker and suitable for a professional shop where a less powerful motor is acceptable. I call saws like this Cadillac’s for Harry Homeowner. The two most often asked questions about the Delta 36-725 table saw are the best blades to use and how to properly align the blade. Understand that I am certainly not a woodworking expert nor an authority on table saws or blades. I am a retired engineer and have been an am...

Breathing life into a trusty saw

04-19-2014 11:51 PM by GodofBiscuits | 5 comments »

I bought my Craftsman table saw about 6 years ago now and it’s been a good saw as long as you took extra special care to ensure the horrid fence it came with was straight each and every time you moved it. The fence system that came in these saw is appalling to say the least and down right garbage when compared to a good biesemeyer style fence. Last week using the saw, I moved the fence and spent several minutes trying to get it straight so I didn’t ruin the beautiful piece of curl...

Delta 46-715 Lathe Refurbish Project #1: Getting the Lathe Home and Mapping the Process

12-31-2014 03:38 AM by Sawdustonmyshoulder | 4 comments »

The Lathe Here is the lathe. I bought it on Craigslist and got what I feel was a good deal. I went to Nashville and picked it up on Saturday. My plans are to replace the AC motor with a DC motor and make the lathe variable speed electronically. Empty Head This lathe has no drive pulleys. The Reeves drive broke and all the parts were trashed. So the headstock is empty except for the spindle and the indexing pin. Motor The AC motor is good so I will put it on eBay and...

Delta T2 36-T30 Fence on a Grizzly G1022Z Table Saw

12-28-2011 07:33 AM by superstretch | 5 comments »

INTROFor Christmas, my bro and I gave my dad the above mentioned fence as a gift. I had read in a few places that people had successfully (albeit blasphemy) mounted this fence to a G1022Z. I had my reservations, but after looking at the equivalent Shop Fox and Vega models (waaay more expensive), we decided to pull the trigger and get one from a well-respected buyer on ebay. At the same time, ebay was running a ‘fast and free’ shipping promotion. I ordered the fence on a Tuesday an...

From Rust to Lust, can I bring it back? #1: The Day I got it

02-02-2012 04:50 PM by GlennsGrandson | 4 comments »

I have already posted in forums on this topic but I had a suggestion that this may be a good idea to update my restoration status as I go. So I found this Rockwell/Delta 37-220 6” Jointer on CL the other day, asking $150, I drove 40 miles to look at it. Talked him down to $100 rather easily being it was missing the table out lock knob, the back door for the enclosed baseis also missing, as well as the beds being coated in rust, and the end of the cord has cardboard and electrical tap...

Replacing Start Capacitor on Delta 50-763 Dust Collector

01-11-2013 12:50 AM by ToddinNH | 0 comments »

Recently my Delta 50-763 dust collector stopped working. When I turned on the power all I’d hear was a loud humming noise but no motor revolutions. After doing some research and speaking with the folks at Delta we determined it was a bad motor starting capacitor. If you’d like to learn more about how to replace it please check out an article I wrote on my own site. http://www.homeconstructionimprovement.com/how-to-replace-start-capacitor-dust-collector-motor/

Unisaw 34-450 for $300

05-27-2011 01:39 AM by cranesgonewild | 19 comments »

Yup, you read that correctly.I’ve been on a search for a while now trying to find a half decent table or cabinet saw. I’ve jumped back and forth from used on Kijiji to a new Ridgid 4512, back to used, then I was going to buy a new Grizzly G0690, right up until Monday. That’s when I got the call. My brother in law sent me a link Monday morning to a Rockwell/Delta Unisaw 34-450 on Kijiji that was posted late the night before. It was a really nice looking saw with no damage ...

From Rust to Lust, can I bring it back? #11: These bearings cost HOW MUCH?!

05-09-2012 05:22 PM by GlennsGrandson | 12 comments »

I took the bearings in to a local auto store to check on replaceing them (Bearing #:8502-k and 8503-k). They want $48 a piece for them! Wowzas. I found them online after S&H for about $63 total. I tihnk I’ll do that. But then I am getting antsy and the company told me they are a special order part so it’d probably be 3 weeks before they even ship! So my dilema is that I want to cut now, but don’t want to spend $100. So I was talking to my dad and he suggested if they wer...
