I use my Lie-Nielson Adjustable Mouth Block Plane almost daily in my custom fly fishing net building. I actually have a few pics of my plane on my website (www.sierra-nets.com) It is a beautifully crafted tool and makes minced meat out of wood.

This is the final blog about my preparations for exhibiting Sierra Nets at my first show-The Fly Fishing Show in Pleasanton, Ca. on Feb. 24-26, 2012. I will be leaving this Thursday morning and driving up to the Bay Area with my best friend, and Sierra Net owner, who will be manning the booth with me Friday-Sunday. It’s about a 7 hour drive from the Disneyland area.

I decided I need to plug my business with a recent article in Western outdoor News (WON). But I wanted it to look nice, so I made a mahogany frame with lap jointed corners and wenge plugs. I used dye and coated with lacquer. My artist buddy Jeff Sprecher happened to have a mat cutter and cut the mat that went into the frame. I had a custom piece of glass cut for it at the local glass shop. I love how it came out.
