Thought it might be fun to share photos of my tiles drying.
Then again it might be boring.
Well anyways !!
Tiles are sitting on the fiber ceiling tiles you buy from Lowes. Bought the damaged ones real real cheap.
Ceiling tiles are the best for this. Draws the wetness out of the clay and speeds the drying cycle time.
Also have an industrial size box fan blowing 24-7 on them. They’re getting dry extra-quick.
Will start a kiln load sooner then estimated.

I recently finished a dovetailed blanket chest as a wedding gift for my good friend. I think it came out pretty nice.
I was able to get it into his house while he was away on his honeymoon. He and his new bride really loved it! It’s a great feeling knowing that they will have this gift and cherish it forever.
I made a video about the entire process. Here’s a link to the video. Check it out, and leave a comment telling me what you think:http://www.eaglelakewoodworking.com/post...

I’ve completed the table based on a design that I blogged about in a previous post. I talk about the construction and design details in a new post on my blog. There are some pictures of the detail there as well. Take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks!

Frank Lloyd Wright’s influences on architecture and the arts and crafts style is everywhere. Buildings, bridges, stained glass, pottery, artwork, graphics, furniture and more. I’ve always admired his rendition of the barrel chair. This table is inspired by that work.Invision quartersawn white oak, 36×72 and 29 inches high. seating 8 people.

We are off to Oregon to visit Schroeder's shop.
The Gnarly Wood Shoppe is a man’s shop (well actually two to three and a dog, according to the sign). From the taxidermy to the office art, it’s pretty clear that this is a manly environment. And this is what they make there.
The über table and the über Thorsten side table.
I’ve made jewelry boxes that took days to make that don’t come up to that drawer. And that book-matched crotch-grained top, breadbo...

A couple of weeks ago I Blogged for help here at LumberJocks (Link Here) with what size / shape /scale to make the corbels for the Pool Table. It was a great discussion and also a nice collaborative process with all who participated. There’s a great group of woodworkers from all skill levels here, and it was nice to hear to various viewpoints.
The corbels are finished, and I think they came out great. The next installment in the video series covers the design and construction of t...

I’m back for some more design advice. The discussion / feedback on the corbels was great, and I thank all who participated.
Next topic for design consideration is the addition of a stretcher between the legs on the pool table.
Some things that are up in the air:
Whether to add a stretcher or not. The legs are stout enough that I don’t need it for stability, so it’s purely asthetic.
If a stretch is added, should I do a through tenon look where the stretcher comes ...

This 11 minute video focuses on techniques for applying and trimming veneer. The video centers on the feet for the leg columns. The hollow foot will lend a substantial look to the bottom of the columns, and at the same time, the foot collar will conceal any shims underneath the columns that may be necessary to level the legs.
This video covers:
The design of the feet. Application of veneer without a vacuum bag. Various methods for flush trimming veneer.
The quartersawn white oak v...
