Shop done. Let's build something #5: more progress on the corner cabinet

Today I managed to get the second door glued up, the top glued up, and the frame and doors prepped for finishing with scraper, sandpaper, and tack cloth. Both doors now done Scraping the cabinet frame. Notice the nice angle my newfangled bench can position the frame clamped in. I jointed and glued the two pieces that will make up the top. A cove molding made on the router table This will go against the cabinet under the top overhang.

Ok, this was nerve wracking but by measuring everything 30 times I managed to make two doors for the corner cabinet and they seem to have come out okay without any major faux pas. My first raised panel doors. The new bosch router and freud panel bits worked out fine. My homemade router table got it’s first serious use too. Way cool. This is a real rush. Again in my series of building a corner cabinet. Today I got the shell built and some shelves made. I used some poplar plywood for the shell (back) and some pine to frame it in behind the oak face. Then I mounted the face to it. It’s 42” tall, 24” wide on the front and each side is about 17” Now all that’s left is the doors, so it will be awhile till my next post. The shop is finally done per my other blogs. I’ve just posted my finished new fangled workbench. I fired up the jointer for the first time in 30 years. I don’t have it connected to my new dust sucker yet. I’ve got a pile of shavings on the floor about 24 inches high. Amazing how much shavings are produced. So, tomorrow is a thorough cleaning of the shop. Put it back together after the bench build. My sister just got a new 19” flat panel TV for her kitchen and is cur...
