A few weeks ago I blogged that my next commission project would be a Mission Style Casket for my Uncle John. He passed away last night, so in the midst of being filled will joy that this project is nearly complete, I am also saddened by his expected death.

It’s taken me a little longer than I thought to come up with some art for the “woodworkers obit shirt” (in days, not actual hours of work). After looking around for inspiration, I eventually came up with the perfect solution! on using….

After a set of long days and late nights, I had the joy of taking the Mission Style Casket to meet the family today. We headed toward each other and met in Great Bend, KS and had lunch and transfered the casket from my little Ranger pickup truck into a covered trailer. After that we shared a lunch at Braum’s, a hamburger and ice cream resteraunt.
I worked late last night and finished up the casket, and installed the liner. Here are some photos showing the final completed look.
