On the suggestion of a couple comments from juniorjock and dantheboxmaker, I decided to try my first blog…anywhere…ever. I don’t really know what I’m doing, so I hope this turns out. Thanks to all who made the kind comments to my posting of this project. These are some of the steps I went through to make the “Frame / Panel Keepsake Box” at http://lumberjocks.com/projects/7096. Frame/Panels:This box consists of five Frame/Panels (FP) – the top, and the four sides making the carcass....

This modular bookshelf is a great project for beginning woodworkers and you veteran woodworkers as well. Requiring only 2 boards to build and a limited amount of tools, this project can be made in a day or a weekend. the design can be modified by building more cubes or changing the orientation of the unit itself. Add some color and it makes a great display and shelving unit for a kids room. Give it a try.
This is part 1 in a series I am doing on pen making for beginners. A friend of mine asked me to teach him and said he wished it was on video so he could watch parts back. So here we go. Thanks for checking it out. Video
