This week I decided to rebuild my tablesaws extension wing/router table. This time I removed the factory metal wing along with my old router table extension and built a new wing using the MDF and famica from last weeks build. This new extension wing combos as a router table as well as it has a pull out support arm that allows me to support my material as i cross cut long boards or sheets goods no matter if I am using a sled or not, because the support arm is adjustable. :O) I am a bit excited. I finally have a set of GRR-Rippers in the shop. I have been wanting one for a long time. So I put together this video to show you just a couple reasons why I am pumped up about these helpful shop accessories. I’m making a small desktop humidor for my cigars. I don’t smoke often at all, but being a woodworker it was hard to resist making one.The purpose of a humidor is to keep cigars at the proper humidity (65-70%) and temperature (70deg).
So I decided to make two at once. One for a friend and one for myself. Both cases are walnut. One has a cocobolo lid and the other a birdseye maple lid. Both will feature Brusso hinges.

In this video I show you how to make a simple yet elegant lift lid box. These little boxes can be made with with different woods to give them their own character, and due to the simplicity they can be made in batches.. They make a great gift to give someone. The boxes in the videos are made from Spalted Pecan, White Oak, & Mahogany. Each Box was finished with 2 coats of Danish Oil to bring out the natural beauty and color of the woods.

I really made good headway yesterday. Today I am in the home stretch of things and it is going to be really fun to see all four of these trays come together at once. I have never really done four at a time like this, but since they are all kind of different styles, it is rather exciting.

Back in May our daughter came to visit with us for a few days. We like to work together in the shop so that is what we did. We each knew a young child that we wanted to make a toy for, so I inquired here about good toy books.
