This week I decided to rebuild my tablesaws extension wing/router table. This time I removed the factory metal wing along with my old router table extension and built a new wing using the MDF and famica from last weeks build. This new extension wing combos as a router table as well as it has a pull out support arm that allows me to support my material as i cross cut long boards or sheets goods no matter if I am using a sled or not, because the support arm is adjustable. Here is a look at some...

:O) I am a bit excited. I finally have a set of GRR-Rippers in the shop. I have been wanting one for a long time. So I put together this video to show you just a couple reasons why I am pumped up about these helpful shop accessories. Not only are they keeping me safe, but they are allowing me the opportunity to perform tasks I couldn’t perform before… That in itself has got me doing backflips… lol Here is a look at the video

I’m making a small desktop humidor for my cigars. I don’t smoke often at all, but being a woodworker it was hard to resist making one.The purpose of a humidor is to keep cigars at the proper humidity (65-70%) and temperature (70deg).
So I decided to make two at once. One for a friend and one for myself. Both cases are walnut. One has a cocobolo lid and the other a birdseye maple lid. Both will feature Brusso hinges.
CONSTRUCTION:Dovetail joints for the sides. Lid and b...

Well this week was a busy week and I didn’t get to make a video project for this past Wednesday. So I thought I would Share this quick project video with you today. For a recent project I needed to make a larger version of an angle gauge to allow me to get the exact angle of an inside corner of a corner shower. After borrowing one from a fellow woodworker, I decided I needed one for the shop. Here is a look at making the simple but very useful over sized angle finder. These are commonly...

What Is Burl?
I have discovered that this question is the most searched question for burls on the internet. Over 140,000 times world wide per month.
So I read what Wikipedia’s definition is and found out that they are not clear and in some details are wrong in their definition. So I am going to attempt to clear the muddy waters.
First of all Wikipedia says: “A burl (American English) or bur or burr (used in all non-US English speaking countries) is a tree growth in which the grain ha...

I really made good headway yesterday. Today I am in the home stretch of things and it is going to be really fun to see all four of these trays come together at once. I have never really done four at a time like this, but since they are all kind of different styles, it is rather exciting.
I will get right down to business and show you where I am at with everything. I took pictures this morning, but nothing here is finished or even sanded for that matter. I do sand things to be pretty sm...

Back in May our daughter came to visit with us for a few days. We like to work together in the shop so that is what we did. We each knew a young child that we wanted to make a toy for, so I inquired here about good toy books. I bought a couple of them and we made these grasshoppers from the plans and instructions in the book Making Heirloom Toys by Jim Makowicki.I had lots of scrap walnut and cherry left over from the two harp-making projects, so we used that for our bodies. We made the legs ...
