Years ago, I bought a bench grinder at a discount import tool and surplus store that predated Harbor Freight stores. I was working on a very tight budget but I wanted a dedicated grinder for sharpening chisels and drill bits. This grinder is rather heavy with a cast iron base and the store owner let me take it out of the box to confirm that it ran smooth. Water stone vs. wet or dry paper

I am going to mount wet or dry paper on glass to sharpen chisels what is the paper equivalent of a 800 and a 4000 waterstone in paper? What grits (series) do you suggest in wet paper to sharpen chisels? ThanksRay
