913 days ago by Martin Sojka | 0 comments »

But at the end you must add your table as the project too (and don’t forget to link back to your blog series from the project story to make it easy for other...

Coming along very slowly on g and g.

949 days ago by jockmike2 | 5 comments »

I have one more apron to cut out on the scroll saw. So tedious, hard for me to sit for long and use the saw. Few minutes at a time. Still I got lucky again. I was going out to visit my Mom’s grave today and right across from the cemetary along side the road was a hugh red oak that had just been dropped. I stopped talked with Mom for a minute then took off for city hall a the DPW. My cousin works for the town DPW and he was there working on something on the work bench. I asked him where...

Thorsen Table Challenge #1: It's a start

951 days ago by roundabout22 | 5 comments »

The whole reason I joined Lumberjocks was because I wanted to get some information about the Thorsen Table Challenge. After spending countless hours here I decided I better at least attempt a table. SWMBO said that I could only build a table if the wood choice matched the bedroom furniture (The Wife’s Dresser). So sorry Obi, but it is going to be made out of pine. I decided to add some Cedar for a contrasting wood Just to do something different I went with a brick laid patt...

There was a landslide almost in my backyard closing a state highway. Five days later, and it’s still closed. A clean up crew came monday (while schools were closed and businesses were shut down) and attempted what clean up they could manage before instability threated them… thus, the clean u...

Well this is the second time I’ve wrote this I tried to slip in a picture and ended up losing my whole blog. Oh well, what else have I got to do, it ain’t the first time. I needed it because I’ve got about 6-8 inches of saw dust and chips from all the planing and j...

Thanks to the creativity and hard work of Karson, Mark and Michael we are starting our first unique Woodworking Challenge! Karson sent the proposal to Glen Huey, Senior Editor of Popular Woodworking and asked him for their support in this challenge. Glen whole heartily agreed. Karson's proposal was to use the cover project from February 2007 issue #160 of Popular Woodworking - Thorsen House Side Table - as our challenge. When we have the Summer and Winter Awards everyone builds their o...
