Rocking Chair: An Online Course #1: Need Reference to a Good Book on Chair Making

Last week I surprised myself by signing up for an online woodworking course. I am expecting this course will help extend my woodworking skill set. Building a rocking chair will be a leap into unknown territory for me. I do not even know the terms or names given to chair parts. In my above video I share my recent tour of Elia Bizzari’s traditional Windsor chair workshop in Hillsboro, North Carolina. I found Elia to not only be warm & welcoming, but incredibly hilarious. Rocking Chair Class

Just finished up a Rocking chair class at our new place. We are calling them “Woodworking Retreats”, since they now include staying in a cabin with the class. We live in such a beautiful area, with lots to do, that it only made sense to make a few changes and add some more classes. This rocker class was a very intense 6 days, where the student takes the rocker home and completes it for himself. In this instance the gentleman flew in from VA to make a rocker for his first grandbaby...
