A few years back my cat decided to get untrained. She started crapping behind the furniture. It was pretty strange. The solution was to move her to the shop where she has access to plenty of sawdust. So I get to share my shop with cat crap. Wonderful. This cat loves to ride on my shoulders. She will sit up there while I’m cutting 4X8’s or at the miter saw and just purr away. Pet doors are cool. They let your little friend go in and out at will – so you don’t have to deal with them. The plastic cat/dog doors available never really appealed to me, but I liked the ability to give our cat freedom during the day and be able to lock up the door at night. So I set out to basically build a door within our existing door.
Using a jig saw I cut out a small rectangular section from our door and saved this to use as the cat door. I squared up the small door pie...

Well, I promised pictures last time, and I have some..I started on the spring pole lathe, which is my big project for this summer/fall, and I decided after much goings on to not make a treadle lathe, meaning in this case continuous motion, but a traditional spring pole lathe, where the piece rotates once or more (hopefully many more) times, then back again.
