Tree carvings #1: Carvings in live trees

While in Juneau Alaska on Mt. Roberts we were shown these tree carvings. They are carved in to live trees. One is a Raven and, the other is an Eagle.The Tree Carvings are known as culturally modified trees. It is an ancient custom of the Tlingit People. If you ever go to Scotland (Edinburgh) you MUST MUST MUST go spend a 1/2 day at Abbottsford – the home of Sir Walter Scott. For the lover of carvings, it’s incredible. Craft Shows #1: Craft show season begins

Hello everyone. Well, I’m not really big on the blog thing. Just a personal issue on my part. But this group is all about wood working and helping eachother in our craft. The craft show season in upon us and I have been very busy making things for the show. A very simple shakers bench, nesting tables, mosaic tile table, a charging station for cell phones and other items and if I have time, a shaker shelf.
