Pattern challenge (23rd of November - 23rd of December)

The only one way for me now to make new album, is to challenge myself. As I know, there are many drawing challenges, when people draw one picture a day (with ink pen or something else), and I decided to draw and carve one pattern a day (6cm x 6cm) during the next 30 days (the challenge started on 23rd of November). And then, when it’s all done, I will make an album in PDF with all the created patterns. I have never done anything like this before, so it will be a real challenge for me.. ...

I made these paddle-style cutting boards out of solid 6/4” maple. This is thick enough that they shouldn’t warp, and they can be sanded down a number of times. It is called a paddle-style cutting board because its handle makes it look a bit like a paddle. The handle makes it easy to carry and hang, and also gives it a unique character. Sugar maple is an ideal wood for cutting boards because it is hard, but not so hard that it will dull your knives. Really, the only import...
