You are the best!!! I asked yesterday if you would go and check out my newly designed website and over 200 of you answered the call.
So with that I say a big thank you! I will be adding burls daily for the next week or so, so please keep checking back.
Today I will be listing some beautiful fiddle back walnut lumber and a large quilted Maple billet.
As soon as I figure out a coupon code I will extend 10% off of your whole order exclusive to LJs.

Well, the bed head pieces are all cut and fit. I did a dry run of the assembly. I’ll need to tweak it a little with a plane but the fit is pretty good. The frame and center iris panel are walnut. the larger panels are jatoba, and the end panels are hard maple. Why is the center one walnut? Because of these woods it was the only one that I found was considered a carving wood on the internet.
The three inner panels are actually the width of the bed. The two maple ends will protrude fro...

All in all it was a great event with a lot of great entries. I would like to thank all those who participated in the 1st Annual Whirligig Wars Contest. When I presented the idea of holding a whirligig contest to Steve Ramsey (Woodworking For Mere Mortals) he and I agreed it would be a fun summer event. The response was overwhelming with over 6000 video views of the videos relating to the contest and many great comments from woodworkers all over. So it was decided early on that this would be ...

Sawdust, shavings, and a lot of water in these heat wave shop exercises has brought me to my newest updates on this Rustic Renaissance Trestle Table. This project has been a lot of fun and also filled with challenges along the way…..the biggest is the heat we have been enduring these past weeks….YIIIKES 100 degrees??......bring back the fall!....lol.
So when I have been able to sneak out and get some more decent temperatures to work with I set about my task at adding side piece...

Here are a few more pictures of the progress on this stick. I completed burning all the scales…finally! But the painting is really what seems to take a long time. I put several coats of white gesso on as a base. It helps the acrylic paint adhere well and the white base makes it easier (at least for me) to get truer colors. This is intended to be a copperhead snake. I just keep painting it until it looks like a snake! I don’t really like the way the eyes look, so I’ve...

I was designing a project a few days ago, and a couple of the joints would use angled dado’s. I’m wondering if anyone has done this and opinions on the safety of doing so.

Hi everybody,
my sister is going to marry in two weeks and I’m in the middle of making a tea light holder that includes the weeding date in golden letters.
I cut five strips and two blocks of smoked oak and “copper oak” (dunno if that exists in the English woodworking world) and laminated them together. I planed and thicknessed the block to about 3,5 cm and drilled two holes for the glass inserts with a 4,5 cm Forstner bit.
After several test pieces with my Dremel t...
