It’s Monday and it’s back to the ole grind I go. This is another blog in my ongoing series to remodel my shop and make a saw till, drill press cabinet, tool cabinet, plane till and workbench. I have been woodworking for 16+ years and have always done my work in dark, dusty caves on anything that would resemble a bench. I have finally decided to spoil myself and go hog wild doing it. I wanted to bring you all along as I made these pieces as it will be a very epic build. I have ...
Dave Sipe is one of the most interesting people I know so I had to share this with all of you! This video is an oldie but it’s one of my favorites! Enjoy!

It is not always nice to have to stop a project because it is bed time, but it does give you a better perspective view the next morning. Before having this sharp object in your project, I figured I might as well do most of the shaping before the glue up. What I am not sure of is how big to make the handle. It seem too big, but I’ll make an other one after this anyway. I used the Elmer’s Epoxy. I hope this stuff will be strong enough t hold this together. Remember this is ...
Forgot how messy a router is. Mahogany machines like butter.Photos are the project with one section roughed in … deepest section … about 3/8 depth using 1/2 router bit.A section with the poster glued on and the tools I’m using, less the dust collector. As mentioned in Marc’s blog … Bought a 1/8 down spiral do some detail work. One thing I didn’t plan for was the paper wants to lift up next to the router bit. My work around is scoring the drawing with ...
This is my first attempt at carving a sign. I’ve wanted to try it for quite a while. Our retreat center needed a sign by the road so this sign already has a home all picked out. Dimensions: 36” x 12” x 2”, basswood I know basswood isn’t the best exterior wood but seeing as it will be painted, I figured it should last many years as long as I give it proper care and maintenance. I created the pattern on my computer. Each letter stands 3” tall. The fo...
