Awhile back Wood Magazine had an article on building a mobile outfeed table that would fit over your table saw. Since I need all the space in my garage I can get, I went ahead and built one that would fit over my table saw to give me some much needed work space and a handy outfeed table.

Hello everyone! Since I discovered Sketchup several years ago (I have been Skecthing since release 3..pre Google) I have spent a great deal of time watching tutorials and prowling through the forums trying to learn as much about this great software as I can! Here is my wall hung tool cabinet; I built it from plans in Popular Woodworking (December 2004, Chris Schwarz, Arts & Crafts Tool Cabinet) with several changes to suit my needs. The overall dimensions of the case are 24”W x 32”H x 12 3/4”D. The top is glued to two stretchers that run the width of the case.

Well, I never did have the time to post the progress of this project as the actual progress occurred but it was completed and now I have a few moments to finish up this series and check it off my list.
This project was much more time consuming than I anticipated but a good learning experience as it had several challenges. I’m relatively proud of it and KT loves it as we have a closet again (our clothes have been hanging from a hand rail supported by the two sides of our loft balcony ...

For all of you cabinet builders on this site, my hat is off to you! I never fully realized the work that is involved in making a cabinet and how even the smallest mistakes can compound so very quickly…

Planer cartI decided to build a flip top cart for my planer. I looked through several forums, magazines, and plans and decided on a hybrid of the Wood and Woodsmith plans.

I drink a lot of tea. And I don’t like the bagged stuff, I like fresh tea, carefully brewed. Call me anal. Or picky, or what have you. Drawer Parts Galore
I started by squaring some panels to the width of the drawers. To save time I rabbeted the entire panel. Later I would rip them to create the sized drawer fronts.
Testing the drawer front fit. You can see the drawer pieces in each cubby awaiting their fronts.
The backs of the drawers are held by dadoes 1/2” in from the back of the drawer. I got to spend some quality time with the new crosscut sled.If you squint you can see that there is another 1/2”...

I have been working on the design of the Cabinet of the RAS for sometime now. I finally got the Sketchup done for the frame of the Torsion Box.
I have been working on it for several hours this evening and have many more details worked out but that is gonna have to be for tomorrows blog.
The outside frame is of 3/4” MDF and the ribs are 1/2” MDF. I could as easily go with 3/4” ribs. But I think I will have minimum deflection in this configuration. Anyone disagree?
