Point of Evanesce ....two kings hedge with time, twas an open veil of rite, i transcend with wood….—by flp I’ve not had much computer time as of late for blogging, so it feels good to get a post up. We seem to be getting hammered with snow….a little much early up here this year, so I’m busy outside working the plow truck and doing clean-up around the place. When I say early up here, well not really early….it’s just that in the last couple of...

Well I DID GO BACK TO JOHNSONS WORKBENCH

712 days ago by jockmike2 | 11 comments »

Well I really did have to return a few items back to Johnsons Workbench were I got all the goodies the other day. For one thing I bought a bag that said 20 ft of veneer, what it did’nt say they where in 5”x9” pieces all multi colored. I asked the guy, what in the heck is a person going to do with 25 or 30 pieces of 5×9 inch pieces of veneer. He said well you can do a lot of things with them. Like eh, eh, well you could think of a lot of things. I said right. Anyway they...

The Best of 'Wood Art" #6: "Defining Design in Wood" --by RusticWoodArt

716 days ago by frank | 6 comments »

Defining Design in Wood ....and so I continue finding the numbers that can be assembled out of 2’‘x4’‘x96’’, or as I have now come to see as (2) re-sawed wood pieces of 1’‘x4’‘x96’’.... Designs are the dreams I write//draw on paper, after imagination has come back, from where she flies in the lofty clouded skies of inspiration. No-idea of where this one was going, when I started this one….just let my hands go ...

"Teller of Life’ as I Now Live Wood" --by RusticWoodArt #8: "Stories of Wood That Yearn"

717 days ago by frank | 2 comments »

Stories of Wood That Yearn ”....tis in the sliding of the barn door’s opening, that the eye of man meets those other’s, who have heard the news, that often what is sold as wood, be-comes the more of what is worked as art....” Often now the mornings are getting colder and so I find myself coming out here earlier to start the fire in the belly of my beast, as I prepare the tools that the ‘old timer’ will be using today. Tools come in many forms shapes a...

"Cabin Renovation and Progress" --by RusticWoodArt

718 days ago by frank | 6 comments »

Cabin Renovation and Progress ....and so I continue on today with some shots of an outside//inside wood project, that has been eating up some of my time. Time delays….running with the after-effects of projected numbers on sheets of paper, that can never catch up to the reality of why is this not done….yet! I am not interested in excuses for delay;I am interested only in a thing done.—-Jawaharial Hehru So put some warm clothes on….hope you remembered to brin...

"After-Effects of Snow...." --by RusticWoodArt

727 days ago by frank | 6 comments »

After-Effects of Snow…. ....what can I add that these picture do not show-tell-speak forth them-selves….? I knew this one was coming so I had already closed the place up here on the outside, in regards to waiting on an icy breath of winters best. One must understand that it’s not the snow I have a problem dealing with, but the time spent on cleaning up after all the flakes of snow have had their party. So after having spent the day yesterday staying ahead of the storm,...

Redemption

729 days ago by dustynewt | 13 comments »

I read all of the community’s responses to my last blog, and had firmly decided that to retain my self esteem and to quit feeling like a sucker, I would cancel my subscriptions. But I really do love this magazine and their other products so I had to let them know why I was canceling. I also emailed a link to the last blog. The first response was little more than a form letter, backing up their position. So, I wrote them again with a little more ire in my language. The second email back was...

"Wordy Wooder" by RusticWoodArt

730 days ago by frank | 7 comments »

Wordy Wooder ....being born this way with a head filled full of words, and then next came the realization that my hands were created, to give expression to the images that swirled around within, while playing the part of verbal misfit, until the day my morning opened up and I saw wood…. One ought to ask them-selves first of all, who-what-where-when and how do I fit in? Without asking these questions that same one will fall prey, to all the other’s coming along and across one...
