Bubinga Trestle Table #1: Massive Board and Table Top

This trestle table design is in a Modern Art Nouveau style and the table top started with a board that can only be described as MASSIVE. With an average width of 39 inches across and an impressive 15 feet long, the 2” thick board featured two live edges (flitch or boule sawn) and not a single straight grain in the whole big board. Hey everyone, Just wanted to share a couple of shop Jigs with you. One is a quick and simple jig for quartering your sheets of sandpaper to use in your palm sanders or sanding blocks. The second jig is a multi function tapering Jig that lets you do 4 sided tapers as well as straight edging rough sawn boards and cutting angles also.. Hi everyone, I’ve finally put together a small bit of footage from my daily activities in my wood working shop. I’ve been working on a Walnut and Bubinga home bar which is all done now, but still finishing up the live edge chair rail and wall paneling. This is a Stanley no.4 1/2 that I built up from parts. The Tote is a sandwich of 3 pieces of bubinga, in a ‘Z’ configuration glued to 2 acrylic tote profiles with maple cheeks.my original idea was to use brass sheet but I didn’t have any to hand so I used clear acrylic sheet [from a car registration plate]. Recently I purchased a Steam Bending Kit from Rockler Woodworking and Hardware so I could try out some Steam Bending.
