I decided on the Bosch 1617EVS(PK), so kept my eyes peeled over the last week or so on the different retail sites, including craigslist and ebay for a possible used one.
Amazon’s price for the “Bosch 1617EVSPK 12 Amp 2-1/4-Horsepower Plunge and Fixed Base Variable Speed Router Kit with 1/4-Inch and 1/2-Inch Collets” was $200 (pretty competitive based on my searches but not a huge bargain), but today I realized that Amazon is having a Bosch tool promotion until May 31st. ...

Have not been here much in the last year or so. I got a new position at work which has taken up more time in a good way. I have actually built a bunch more of the kitchen cabinets which I will post later.
I am finally building some removable sliding windows for the porch. I put some fixed windows in a few years ago, but it was long enough that I completely forgot how to do the job smoothly. So I am going to document it this time.
In this blog: How to make the frames. Here are two of the...

Going to have to write a review another time, but just wanted to gloat about the deal I made on the Bosch RA1181 benchtop router table at Home Depot
I discovered that this item was being clearanced in my local store for $129 (regularly $179 – $190), plus I had (yet another) Harbor Freight 20% off any single item coupon, which HD honored (your mileage will vary…). So, I picked up a fairly nice starter table for $103 + tax.
Plus, it’ll work great with my Bosch 1617EVSPK ...

As you can read by the title, I do not have, nor have I ever owned a table saw. And I think it’s about time I acquired one. I have a project I will be starting of built-in bookcases with a faceframe and doors, plus an adjoining mantel that I feel will be a heck of a lot easier to complete if I have a table saw for the task. That project is here http://lumberjocks.com/JonathanG/blog/13322 if you would like to give any input, advice or thoughts on that.
(Beginning here, the next three ...

Hello folks!
Hope all have had a wonderful Christmas. Mine has been hectic but overall a great year. I’ll keep it brief as it is late…
I received two notable woodworking gifts this year.
The first is a Bosch CS20 Circular saw. A circular saw has been on my list as a future purchase and I had no clue I would be getting one. It came from my grandfather and all indications so far show it to be an excellent piece of equipment. It is stout unit and I look forward to making som...
