The Post and Panel System started with the desire to let my son build cool castles out of blocks. But I didn’t like that regular blocks fall down so easily. Making a violin....maybe #3: Plugging away

I have have all the ribs formed, and glued onto the blocks. Wife’s old curling iron (shhh) makes a fine bending iron. The linings were more difficult than I anticipated. I ended up using a small branch from a goofy tree in my backyard. I think it’s some sort of cultivated form of birch, but it has pendulous branches like a willow. Whatever it is it worked alright. The basic assembly process is simple: Slide a panel’s edge bead into a groove in a post—that’s it. Incidentally, this basic interaction is so intuitive that my 4 yr old took one look at a post and panel and immediately put them together. Within seconds, he had grabbed two more posts and panels and added them to the wall. Another Rewarding few minutes

Just another quick entry about another few minutes in the shop that made my daughter prettty happy. It was a rather warm day and someone was bored besides me.. I started to clean up my shop again and began throwing little scrap pieces into a trash bag, I looked at a few and instead set them next to my sander turned it on and wound up with a shoebox full of all kinds of blocks.
