I finally got some time back in the shop.
I calculated the size of the outfeed table, had a friend with a cold press laminate both sides of a sheet of MDF for me, I cut it roughly to size and set it aside to finish up the base cabinet.
I lost some photos somewhere for the middle of this process, but once my blade storage shelves were sanded out, I turned some purpleheart center dowels on the lathe for the blades to sit on. I made two sizes, one for the 10” blades, and one for the...

In pondering the best way to store my table saw blades, I came up with this design. I’m sure I’ve just borrowed bits & pieces from other designs and combined them here though. Isn’t that the way it always happens? :)

I managed to sell my old scroll saw the same day Guy Pal put the down payment on the new saw. It’s a cheap Harbor Freight saw, but it comes with a decent supply of blades, the original box, the paperwork, and a sturdy stand. I good friend of mine pounced on it when I offered it to him at $45. This money will go directly into guy pal’s pocket to start paying off my new saw. I was going to put it on Craigslist for 50, but I do still have lots of fond feelings toward this saw. I made...

While at Mom’s the other day I salvaged an empty pill bottle (fish oil, it’s BIG) thinking “This might be big enough to put scroll saw blades in.” Brought it home and today, while waiting for finish to dry… I tried it out and with some scrap 1/8th inch plywood made the holder. Nothing fancy. I didn’t even sand it. I made a ‘collar’ that will keep the blade ends in the center of the bottle so as to not interfere with the lid and labled it with th...
